🗓️ Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Moshi Arrival

Arrive in Moshi. Pre-climb briefing, gear check, and overnight at a base hotel.

Trail opens to heath/moorland with views of Mawenzi and Kibo. 5–6 hours walking. Short acclimatization walk in the afternoon if time allows.

Long, gentle traverse across the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo (alpine desert). Early dinner and rest ahead of summit push.

Start around midnight via Gilman’s Point (5,685m), then along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak. Celebrate, take photos, then descend to Horombo for a full rest. 12–16 hours total on feet.

Descend via Mandara to Marangu Gate for certificates and transfer to Moshi.
