🗓️ Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Moshi Arrival
Arrive in Moshi. Pre-climb briefing, gear check, and overnight at a base hotel.

Day 2: Marangu Gate (1,860m) → Mandara Hut (2,720m)
Trail opens to heath/moorland with views of Mawenzi and Kibo. 5–6 hours walking. Short acclimatization walk in the afternoon if time allows.
Meals: B, L, D — Overnight: Horombo Hut
Day 3: Mandara (2,720m) → Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Trail opens to heath/moorland with views of Mawenzi and Kibo. 5–6 hours walking. Short acclimatization walk in the afternoon if time allows.

Day 4: Horombo (3,720m) → Kibo Hut (4,720m)
Long, gentle traverse across the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo (alpine desert). Early dinner and rest ahead of summit push.

Day 5: Summit Day – Kibo → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Horombo (3,720m)
Start around midnight via Gilman’s Point (5,685m), then along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak. Celebrate, take photos, then descend to Horombo for a full rest. 12–16 hours total on feet.

Day 6: Horombo → Marangu Gate → Moshi
Descend via Mandara to Marangu Gate for certificates and transfer to Moshi.
